The Poppy Factory is a factory in Richmond, London, England, where remembrance poppies are made. It was founded in 1922 to offer employment opportunities to wounded soldiers returning from the First World War, creating remembrance products for the Royal Family and The Royal British Legion’s annual Poppy Appeal.
At the start of this year The Poppy Factory began a major redevelopment to provide an inclusive, modern, safe and effective working environment for all their staff and volunteers.
This refurbishment will also allow them to create an improved visitor experience that is more accessible to the local community.
When we were approached by Gardner & Theobald to see if we would like to Tender for the Data Network cabling, AV, WiFi and CCTV installations for their major redevelopment we jumped at the opportunity.
Saw-Tec supplied and installed 153 Cat6A Panduit Outlets throughout to cover the following; Floor box trunking system within the Office areas and Reception as well as AP's and CCTV at high level. All emanated from a dedicated new 42U Comms Rack assigned to a secure room. All Containment provided by the M&E Contractor with some challenging routes provided due to the design and complexity of this Historical Building.
For the WiFi and CCTV procurement and with budgets in mind we chose the Ubiquity Systems solution. This integrated seamlessly within their LAN/WAN and has proven to be a great success.
With regards to the AV and much discussion Saw-Tec finally supplied and installed the following;
2 no. NEC Ultra short throw 3500 Projectors with Kramer wall panels, Apart Audio Amplifiers and Apart high level wall mounted speakers within both the Presentation and Exhibition areas. In addition to these we set out a Ampetronic low spill hearing loop within the screeded floor of the Presentation room.
A further 3 no. Samsung RUSeries 4K LED Screens with Sanus wall panels and Tablets for the Reception, Exhibition and Office areas were also installed. All config and training included on completion and all within Budget.
This Project for Saw-Tec was very special to each and everyone one involved, it gave us the opportunity to provide our services and expertise to an amazing Charity that is dear to all of our hearts, thank you Poppy Factory and keep up the amazing work that you all do.
